dicom package - seems to require GDCM 2.0 .

I am interested in using some functionality of the Octave DICOM package.

Per http://octave.sourceforge.net/dicom/, last release was 2011. The package seems incompatible with GDCM 2.6 which is the latest version, but rather seems to require GDCM 2.0 .

Is this package actively maintained by anyone? If not, I can offer to take it on and try to get it updated.

Or would another course of action be recommended such as installing an old GDCM 2.0.x .
