 I was bewildered by the link - sorry. Thank you for helping me continue this discussion correctly by email. 

 People on list will remember that there are basically two ways of running Octave on Mac: native, or my emulator script which uses Vagrant.

 As I was saying, there are some bugs and Vagrant issues in the just-out Ubuntu Xenial LTS https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-images/+bug/1605795

 I do not think it makes sense at the moment to try and use Xenial for the Mac VM  version of Octave.
