Follow-up Comment #5, patch #7762 (project octave):

The demo does not work in Debian. When this line is ran:

figure (h, "position", pf)

it doesn't matter what value I place on pf, it will not go outside the screen,
it's automatically adjusted. get (h, "position") shows this. They are not
being ignored, they are just being adjusted so that the window does not end up
outside the screensize. I kinda see that as a good thing.

I don't mind where the function ends up, I just placed where I thought more
appropriate at the time but I don't really have an opinion.
