Everything merged cleanly this time and I committed your patch here
(http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/334d8edd48bc).

Also, if you need to stop a %!test from running just add a '#' character after
the '%'.

->
%#!test


This will comment out the entire test block.  I know you were having trouble
with copyobj.m while running 'make check' and this may allow you to get past
it.  Incidentally, the issue doesn't seem to be with copyobj, but rather with
patch.  copyobj() is just provoking the bug.
