Details:

The patch uses the now deprecated classes of Octave <= 4.0.

The patch also suppresses deprecation warnings in src/Makefile.in. So if you
want to check after a future change if something else is deprecated, remove
the -Wno-deprecated-declarations in the Makefile.

A different approach would be to check for the new classes in configure.ac, as
done similarly e.g. in the image package.
