Actually it looks like it's a networking thing.
You might want to try using the -c and -o options of om_gtk to set the
address the engine attempts to talk to the client through. Some people
are having problems with the address resolution, that I havn't figured
out yet.
Try something like 'om_gtk -c localhost -o 12345'
