Hi, Gary,

the problem is that the Photoshop plug-in doesn't support scripting. If it did, the values you specified in the dialog when you recorded the action would be applied automatically when you played the action. I've known about this limitation for a long time, but haven't had time to fix it.

Like Drew says, once savannah is back up, you can grab the source and edit it to not bring up the dialog (you can just hardcode the exposure and gamma settings you want). Or, you could add scripting support, and I would happily roll those changes back into the CVS tree :) In fact, if anyone out there is looking for some EXR coding glory, this is a perfect opportunity.

Hi Gary,

I'm sure that Paul will follow up with details on the operation of the
plugin, but the source code is actually available in the OpenEXR CVS tree under the "Photoshop" module. I forgot to release a source code package
for it in the Files area of the Savannah project page.

Anyway, you can use CVS to grab the source code, once Savannah is back up,
or wait for us to post the Photoshop source package sometime next week
after the 1.0.7 OpenEXR release.

Is your Viper DPX->OpenEXR converter source code available? Sounds
interesting.

I am just starting to work with OpenExr. I was able to build it
succesfully.

I have written a converter from Viper quasi-log dpx files to exr. The exr representation has the quasi-log algorithm inverted, so that the exr data
is linear. I presented a paper at SMPTE in NY in mid Nov describing
the process (SMPTE is going to post the conference papers on the website
 at some point).

Given that this is moving image data (with extended dynamic range, due
to the quasi-log capture mode), I am interested in using the "batch" mode
 in Photoshop.

The current exr plugin for photoshop (on my Mac) halts during file read, waiting for a carriage return, whereas other file readers in photoshop go
 right through.

Would it be possible to add whatever fix is necessary to the exr plugin
for photoshop in order to allow it to continue through batch without
waiting
for the carriage return or "OK" mouse button click?

Is there any plan to release the source code for this plugin?
