Oi!  I do start getting worried when Charles points to my bug reports as
informative! :) :)

Anyway I had posted a long follow-up to that bug report in the old mailing
list.  Since the topic came up, I wanted to update that bug report, with my
post to the group.  I went over to eGroups to search for it, but I could not
access any of the archives, even after signing in...is that because the
group is inactive?  (please see http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pan-users/)
