While thinking about that, I wondered: Why not have an option for Pan
to toss the message to an external mail program? This would take a
user-supplied field and use it to hand responsibility for editing and
sending the reply over to another application entirely. For instance, if
I choose to reply by e-mail instead of news, Pan could call "kmail
- --subject %SUBJECT --msg %FILENAME %ADDRESS" based on what I'd fill in
there. At this point it could stop caring what happens to it, because
unlike an external editor, the message is not going to return.
Further, if I am sending a copy by e-mail, this should happen *after*
using Pan or an external editor to compose the reply. (I would want to
preview it, possibly annotate or add recipients.)
