This time I tried the RH 7.1 package, on Mdk 9.1 Cooker, kept reasonably close
to bleeding edge updated (several times a week). Not a problem here.

Several points:

1) Note it failed on 7.3 RH for someone as well, and Charles is wondering
about PANGO versions, to that might be it.

2) Perhaps that I used the RH 7.1 package is the explanation. However, I
think that unlikely. (I've used 7.3 b4 w/ no issues, but I was attempting to
see if the 7.1 version would fix spell checking, which doesn't seem to work,
but says spellcheck disabled and continues, now.) It's perhaps somewhat more
likely that it might be that 9.1 Cooker makes the difference.

3) Somewhere along the line I must have installed the RH GTK2 AND the Mdk GTK2
packages over each other or something, as I never have dependency issues
there, with the RH packages, and I haven't installed the stubs that someone
mentioned either, although it's possible I installed stubs some time ago and
that's the reason both work here. <shrug> It could also be that Cooker
thing again. Maybe they changed it to stuff the RPM database for BOTH
dependencies in one of the Cooker builds?? Anyway, it's possible that
whatever the reason I don't get dependency errors on this accounts for it
working here as well.

I expect that PANGO issue or whatever caused the RH 7.3 install to fail on it
as well, is the issue, however. The others are just there to cover other
known differences that might account for it, between our platforms.
