Keyboard selection in general hasn't worked right since the upgrade to gtk2 w/
0.12.0. That has been due to having to use an old widget with limited
features, because the full featured one hasn't been fast enough in gtk2 yet
for realistic updating performance. They had to choose between having
keyboard and mouse selection, as the work around for one broke the other.
They chose mouse.

That said, until now, cs-home/end worked to select from current message to top
or bottom, which was nice. It appears in fixing one thing, they broke
another, however. See the 0.13.4 announcement here, on announce, or on the
site. Under Tweaks, see #88869, reported by Martin Schrode. back on 0.11.x.
They fixed simple home and end to go to top and bottom, with 0.13.4, but
apparently broke cs-home/end selection at the same time, unfortunately.

I'd suggest filing a bug report, and maybe they can have both working with
0.14.1, hopefully without breaking something ELSE! <g>
