Hi,

Sorry if this has been gone over before.

When I find a spam message, I like to plonk it/the author so that I don't
see any more of the same message. So, in .91, I select the message and
press Shift-P.

This brings up the "Add to Scorefile" dialog with the entry for Author set
up automatically to match the author of the currently selected message.

The first few times, I just hit "Add and Rescore", and the message in
question disappeared.

However, I came across the same blocked messages in other newsgroups. When
I actually read the dialog the next time, I found that the "Group" field
was also filled in by default with the exact group in which the message
appears, which is as expected I would suppose.

The odd part comes when I try to change the value in the "Group" field.
When I change the "Group" field to just alt. (to match any of the groups I
read), and change the drop-down box next to the field to read "contains"
(or "Starts with", I have tried both), and then hit "Add and Rescore", the
message does not go away.

As an example, I subscribe to alt.binaries.pictures.fantasy-sci-fi and I
found a message I want to plonk. I press Shift-P and up pops the "Add to
Scorefile" box. The author is correctly filled in, so all I change is the
group field, which I change to read "alt.", and the drop down box next to
the group field, which I change to "Contains". When I hit "Add and
Rescore", the message I just plonked stays.

After performing the preceding steps, the following entries are in my
Scorefile:

However, the message in question still appears in this newsgroup.

Is there something I am doing wrong?
