As Erik states, scripting it isn't hard.  Once you get the script set up
to take the file on the command line, it's relatively easy to associate it
with a filetype in KDE (=creating a .desktop file, possibly hidden,
and sticking it in the K menu, with an appropriate open priority, if you
do it by hand).

I've not worried much about PARs and just filter them out, but I added a
right-click open entry to the mount and unmount commands, on file system
and directory types (most useful for removable media).
