If they are UU-encoded, or base64, or BinHex, there's an age-old
utility
called "uudeview" that will sort them all out for you. Install it (I'm
sure it's in... um... doesn't FreeBSD call its software system "ports"?)
and just go to your cache directory and do something like "uudeview *".
If the files are yenc-ed, you can use "yydecode" to do much the same.
Uudeview has a comprehensive man page. Yydecode's is more terse, but
will still tell you what you need to know. :)
