Thanks a lot!  Using the "2" and "3" keys eliminates the problem, so I
guess it is the same bug. :-)

Its an annoyance really, rather than a serious problem, but one that
could put off some people from using Pan.  Is there likely to be a
solution to this in forthcoming builds?
