Do I need debugging compiled in, and if so, how do I do that then get the backtrace?By default, pan is built with with ' -g -O2 ' and the pan executable has the debug symbols. You can then run "gdb ./pan/gui/pan" [...]
When I used those arguments/flags/switches and ran 'gdb pan' it said it has no debugging symbols. Below is the configure line from the SlackBuild.
./configure --prefix=/usr --localstatedir=/var/lib --sysconfdir=/etc --mandir=/usr/man --with-gnutls --with-gmime-crypto --with-gtkspell --enable-libnotify --enable-gkr --program-prefix= --program-suffix= --build=$ARCH-slackware-linux
