Guys get the Castle creations 10A switching regulator which is tiny and 
programmable from 4 to 9 volts and just replace the damn thing.
2.5A are not enough in our days especially now that digital servos 
became so cheap.
Even one standard 6 kg digital servo can draw more than 2A (Hyperion 
Atlas for example)
I have done it and it works fine.
In fact any other high amperage bec can be used like some 15A sold from 
China
(they are very good and low noise despite the price being so low)
but the Castle creations one is the only one fully programmable.
