The three first lines are just like that also in ./configure.

There's nothing more SigC-concerning around PKG_CHECK_MODULES, just the one line.

NetBSD is 2.0 beta, but the packages (also sigc++) come from 1.6.2 binaries.

Could you post the lines around 20551 of configure?

Normally, I would guess one of two things, either a missing pkgconfig
(does not fit here because in your other mail there are some directories
which belong to pkgconfig) or a homemade installation (the last time I
compiled libsigc by hand, it didn't install its package file, so it
wasn't found). However, I suppose somehow the macro is for pkgconfig is
simply missing, which is why I would like to see those lines.
