I had the same problem when I had configured the path of the phpGW url to 
something like www.mymachine.com/phpgroupware

Replacing this with just /phpgroupware solved the problem (as far as I can 
remember).

Anyway, I have a https config working, if this is not correcting the problem, 
give more details of your configuration to let us help debugging ...
