Hi Aaron,
Disclaimer first, this is untested and you try this suggestion at your
own risk.
Now the sugestion. In you apache config you could put a permanent
redirect for phpgroupware/login.php to
https://myserver.domain.com/phpgroupware/login.php
Then change the phpgroupware url in your config to
http://myserver.domain.com/phpgroupware
