[Phpgroupware-users] pop email

How does pop email work with phpgw?  Does it download the mail to the
phpgw server, or does it simply read the maildir?  There isn't a leave
mail on server option, and I dont want to try this if my maildir is going
to be empty and I have to foward all my mail back to myself.
