Thanks a lot Guillaume. I´ve been trying to make some translations with the application installed but I can´t make them visible in my phpgroupware applications.

I perform the operations step by step: first I select the source language (english) and the target one (spanish), then I translate the phrase (from the application I´m tring to update, for example calendar), and then I write the target file (and I check the file and I can see the changes reflected). Finally I click the "update database" button.

When I go to the application with spanich as my default language, I can´t see my tranlation reflected. Whay am I missing? I have a doubt anout the trnaslation page, what the "application" combo is for? It give the options "calendar, login, preferences, common and admin" to select. I must select any special app, depending on the phrase?

Thanks for help

JOrge

Hi everybody. I´m trying to translate to spanish every text of my PHPgroupware applications. Haow may I perform this translations? Is there a language file with the translated text for each application? What about the lang table which is created on my database? Is there any easy way to perform this operations?

I´ve seen there are still some texts not translated at all to spanich and I would like to translate them.

You should use the developer_tools application, there's a tool for doing the translations.

Basically, it's based on the english lang file (phpgw_en.lang) for each application (in the setup sub-dir).

Once your phpgw_es.lang file is completed for the apps you want to complete, please post a patch to savannah.gnu.org for the phpgroupware project, so we will be able to commit it for future releases.

Check this :

If you have more questions, don't hesitate !

Bye.
