Summary:  auto-scrolling should be smoothed

Original Submission:  auto-scrolling currently starts instantly and stops 
instantly, which feels incorrect, some smoothing algorithmen should be inserted 
which cause the scrolling to accelerate slowly and break down after the cursor 
has left the border.
