No .pingus/config file!

Can someone tell me what to do about this error?  The same error 
actually occurs when I run the pingus binary in the unstable Debian 
package.  But that binary runs fine (at least it loads fine, but 
segfaults later).  And this config file never gets created for some 
reason...

Error caught from Pingus: PingusError: Couldn't open: 
/home/david/.pingus/config
