There shouldn't be anything that different from a stock Mac runing OS
10.4.2--it's got all current patches/updates. It's a Powerbook 15",
stock. There should only be the additional routines that pspp needed in
order to compile--the libgsl, libgmp, libplot, etc. I recently (two+
weeks ago) used fink to update all packages to their current levels.

Did El report that he also had a problem getting this to compile on his
Powerbook, or was that something else?

I've just borrowed a Mac from a colleague, loaded RC4 and I cant
reproduce the problem. It configures , builds and tests absolutely
fine.

here's the specs of what the machine I'm using:

honeydip:~/pspp-0.4.0 jmd$ uname -a
Darwin honeydip.csse.uwa.edu.au 8.2.0 Darwin Kernel Version 8.2.0: Fri
Jun 24 17:46:54 PDT 2005; root:xnu-792.2.4.obj~3/RELEASE_PPC Power
Macintosh powerpc honeydip:~/pspp-0.4.0 jmd$ gcc --version
powerpc-apple-darwin8-gcc-4.0.0 (GCC) 4.0.0 20041026 (Apple Computer,
Inc. build 4061) Copyright (C) 2004 Free Software Foundation, Inc. This

What's different about your setup ??
