From what I recall using Mac OS from a long time back, you have to set an 
environment variable to tell it where to find then dynamically loaded 
library (libpsppire.so)  In most operating systems the variable  is called
LD_LIBRARY_PATH, but I seem to remember that some versions of the MAC call it 
DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH.  I don't have a Mac to test this, so I can't be more
precise.

In the 0.7.x versions, this isn't a problem, since it doesn't use dynamic 
libraries.
