I put the following command at the beginning of the .sps file before the GET
FILE command and I no longer get the error message.
SET LOCALE='windows-1252'.
I can't believe I actually figured something out on my own! :)

If I'm reading the syntax below, the MATCH FILES command only matches a
single file. If that's correct, then it's curious that it would produce
such an error, and I should investigate. Am I reading the syntax
correctly?
