I installed the PSPP version you are talking about on my Windows 10 machine in September last year and encountered no such problem. The same is true for a test installation on my old Windows Vista computer that I ran last week. I doubt that Windows 7 machines respond totally different to the installation of the same version of PSPP.

Because you work at a commercial institute you may have tried to install PSPP on a computer at your workplace. In Germany it is not unusual that users of company computers only have restricted access to their computers. Maybe you do not have the full rights of an administrator of your computer and this could be the reason why the installation didn't seem to work and you didn't find PSPP on your computer.

If you haven't checked this possibility yet you should contact the IT personnel at your institute and ask for assistance.

The installation finished successfully but I cannot find the program anywhere on my computer afterwards.
