Hi Wenxuan,
if you like to have the old desktop interface you can get it from
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell
Then, when you log in, yous should select the gnome classic.
Best regards
Gianluca

Hi Wenxuan,

I post this on the list because it may be helpful to other memebers as
well.

The error message indicates that your SSH connection with Savannah is
not yet ok. This may be because there is a delay between putting your
SSH key on Savannah and access being granted. If after one day it still
does not work, the report back.

The 'berlios' mentioned in the document are indeed remnants that need to
be cleaned up.

Congrats with your Ubuntu. For 11.10, you may prefer to activate the OLD
desktop user interface. I have no idea how to do that, but there surely
is somebody on this list who can tell you.

Benedict

Dear Benedict,
After a serial of browsing on Google and settings, now my linux is officially
on line! This mail is sent under Ubuntu 11.10.

Thanks for you detailed interpretation in the HowTo, it did give me a clearer
whole picture of what I need to do and how to do that! I have printed them out
for convenient reference.

There are actually a little bit link problems with this docment which you may
need to correct:
In chapter “Working with the subversion repository”, where you link the create
branch to the belios web site. I don’t know whether it is right or not. But I
heard that server is going to be shut down at the end of this year.
In chapter “Make file public”: Make a distribution file available on Berlios
FTP server.( you mentioned earlier that chapter that the document is a little
old and need to be correct, guess you alreay know this. )

Besides, according to your guidance, I have registered my SSH and then try to
retract SVN from the depositary using the following commands:
address@hidden:~$ svn co svn+ssh://address@hidden/pyformex/trunk pyformex
then after a pause, the terminal print out the following message instead of
checking out Pyformex:
svn: To better debug SSH connection problems, remove the -q option from 'ssh'
in the [tunnels] section of your Subversion configuration file.
svn: Network connection closed unexpectedly

I have already edit the subversion config file and also try to follow the
suggestion by delete the -q from SSH, still it can not check out the source.

Could you please tell me what my mistakes are?

Thank You!

Wenxuan
