[Qemu-devel] clock timer configuration lost probably a VIA686a

According to Alan Cox, this is a bug in 2.2 kernels.  Here is another bit

Apparently many virtualization/emulators have the same issue.  I can
confirm that upgrading to 2.4 eliminates the problem.
