Dear Brad,
Out of interest, I booted Darwin Intel version in Qemu latest CVS version,
which stopped on the same Apple Intel PIIXPATA error:

Also, when starting a Debian SID host with 2.6.6 kernel, when loading PIIX3,
there is an "DMA_base is invalid" message (may not be related to previous):
