Network access worked immediately when I set Win2k for DHCP but it is dead slow and corrupts some downloads. It takes disproportionately long to load web sites and I can hardly use Windows network shares at all. It sometimes fails just opening folders on a remote disk. Anything I ping looses all packets yet I can get some access and browse the web. Internet access is, of course, fine on the host machine.
I'm running Windows 2000 Professional installed from an academic bulk-license CD on a 3 GB image on a dual 2 Ghz G5 with 2.5 GB RAM. I have been invoking Qemu with the RAM for the emulation environment upped to 512 MB rather than the default 128 MB.
