has anybody considered using libao (http://www.xiph.org/ao/) for *nix 
audio output, rather than using OSS directly?

with the latest CVS, I can (finally) get sound with a linux host, win98 
guest, but ONLY if I stop everything else that's using the soundcard 
first.  If I give the -enable-audio switch, and qemu can't get /dev/dsp 
all to itself, it crashes.
