Thank you for all the great feedback. Here are some replies to the things said
(hopefully I didn't ommit anything):
- I agree that this is "final product testing" not "unit testing", but since it
is easier for a beginner (read: me :-)) to do final product testing, I'ld like
to start with this. As work progresses, I would be happy to add unit tests
- the Windows image will be used only to build Qemu using MingW, not to test
its ability to handle Windows (ie I would use a stable version of Qemu, like
0.9.1 with a WinXP image). Additional testing with the generated binary is
however a good idea (like trying to boot Windows XP, XP 64 and so on with it)
- I'll look into KVMTest, looks like a good fit for what I'm trying to do,

- To underline what Paul said: yes, these tests wouldn't be tests in the "make
test" sense of the word, and, although I will provide the full source, they
would be more of the "running on a machine in the closet" type tests
- Thiemu - could you please provide a link? I did some searching around but I'm
not sure that what I've found is relevant
