Now I am able to use gpxe under kvm with gpxe 0.9.3 e1000 0x1026 but to obtain
this I tried lots o network cards type and gpxe versions.
My question is:
How can I know what version of gpxe and what network card type must I use ?
For example: if I want to use a virtio card type, I know under /usr/share/kvm I must substitute the virtio rom file with a gpxe virtio rom but I don't know wich version of gpxe and wich revision of the model type.

Hello, I tried do down rom images fro virtio-net last current gpxe release.
Then I inserted in the xml file of my kvm machine the tag <model
type='virtio'>

Wen I try to boot my machine from network it stops at
"Press Ctrl-B to configure gpxe"
Thanks
Igna

Hello,

Hi,

I' am trying kqemu and kvm on fedora core 10.
I am able to install windows xp guests either under kqem or kvm.
If I want to use Operating streming (I am use HP Neoware Image Manager) I am not able to use kvm but only kqemu.
I think this is because kqemu uses gpxe.
I wrote to kvm mailing list and they suggest me to write on qemu-devel.
Why kqemu uses gpxe and kvm not ?
I tried to insert a gpxe rom (generated on rom o matic) under /usr/share/kvm
but it does not work...

I use kvm with gpxe rom (try the virtio one...)

you must rename it using the same name as etherboot one, i.e.
gpxe-e1000.bin, gpxe-rtl8139.bin, etc, according the card you use.

Cordialmente,
Laurent
