This appears to work correctly in the latest git.  I've tested:

Bug description:
hi!
i am trying to mount disk image with qemu-nbd -c (connect FILE to NBD device 
DEV), not work:

~ # modprobe nbd max_part=8
~ # qemu-nbd --connect=/dev/nbd0 zzz.img
~ # fdisk /dev/nbd0

Unable to read /dev/nbd0
~ # ps ax | grep nbd
22067 ?        Ss     0:00 qemu-nbd --connect=/dev/nbd0 zzz.img
22068 ?        Z      0:00 [qemu-nbd] <defunct>
~ # qemu-nbd -d /dev/nbd0
/dev/nbd0 disconnected

in dmesg see only "kernel: nbd0: NBD_DISCONNECT"

this working if use qemu-nbd without --connect and connect with nbd-client
