[Qemu-devel] how to add a new guest cpu to qemu?

I'm a college student and a fan of linux. I am learning the source of qemu, and find your name in the maintainers.
I really want to add a new guest cpu which is used by the course I'm taking. Would you please give me the documents or at least some hints that will help me add the new guest cpu.
