No, the patches to make it a git submodule have gone in.
If you configure with --enable-fdt and you don't have a
system fdt then it should now prompt you how to pull
in the submodule.

I'm planning to force --enable-fdt somehow for ARM targets
in 1.6; only reason I didn't for 1.5 is that the libfdt
code went in fairly late in the release cycle and I
figured I'd let it bed in first.

If you're going to make the ppc64 default machine an fdt
one you should probably force fdt for ppc too. (I'd
suggest we forced it on for everything but the x86 folks
would probably complain :-))
