realize is a bad name too.

what does it mean? make real?
It's still all virtual ...

If we want it to mean hide from guest/expose to guest,
then why not call it like this?

        expose_to_guest

        unexpose_to_guest


finalize is even more ambigous, and not pairing
with anything as far as I could see.
