Alexey/Alex:

I think this looks good. And I was able to boot an Ubuntu 14.04 image using
Power8 TCG:

address@hidden:/images/simple$ cat /proc/cpuinfo
processor : 0
cpu : POWER8E (raw), altivec supported
clock : 1000.000000MHz
revision : 1.0 (pvr 004b 0100)

timebase : 512000000
platform : pSeries
model : IBM pSeries (emulated by qemu)
machine : CHRP IBM pSeries (emulated by qemu)

I was also able to run various tests that exercise p8 instructions as well as a
standard program that
demonstrates readability of the various PMU SPRs (i.e. the Uxxxx SPRS).
