The patch doesn't apply for me. Do you have older local commits on your
branch that modify the file?

My current git master has:

I think the more common translation is just "Vergrößern"/"Verkleinern".

Same here.

Ich bin mir allgemein schon nicht sicher, ob eine deutsche Metapher wie
"Reiter" zu benutzen eine gute Idee ist, wenn wir mit "Tab" ein
Fremdwort haben, das im Deutschen eine ziemlich spezifische Bedeutung
für Benutzeroberflächen hat.

Ein Reiter ist jedenfalls der Teil einer Registerkarte/Karteikarte, der
oben übersteht und die Beschreibung enthält. "Reiter abtrennen" klingt
für mich als würde man den Reiter von der Karte trennen, nicht als würde
man die komplette Registerkarte abtrennen/herausnehmen.

Das so zu verstehen ist auch deswegen konsequent, weil "Reiter anzeigen"
ja nicht den Inhalt verschwinden lässt, sondern tatsächlich nur die
Reiter an sich.

The rest of it looks good, but as the patch didn't apply, my review
probably isn't complete.

Supporting your intention to include it in 2.1 anyway.
