Or just

$ qemu-img create -f qcow2 floppy.qcow2 1440K
$ qemu-system-x86_64 -fda host_floppy:floppy.qcow2
qemu-system-x86_64: -fda host_floppy:floppy.qcow2: Host floppy pass-through is deprecated
Support for it will be removed in a future release.
