ARM CPU has

    qdev_init_gpio_out(DEVICE(cpu), cpu->gt_timer_outputs,
                       ARRAY_SIZE(cpu->gt_timer_outputs));

So you should be able to use qdev_connect_gpio_out rather than direct
assignment.
