Instead, use the "D" variant and pass e.g. 1/2 (or 4/8) as data ("length").
OR (better) access and test "s->fields->op" in op_cvb to detect the length.
You can then forward (e.g. the length) to the helper and avoid
op/cvbg/cvbg and inline do_cvb.
