Thanks for the feedback and pointer.

I am pondering 2 options now:
* Delete patch-wrapper and leave quilt setup as is.
* Keep patch-wrapper and let quilt setup use patch-wrapper instead of
spawning its own wrapper dynamically upon each invocation.

I'll have to look deeper into the code to see if there are any
significant differences between both implementations. But I don't really
have the time for it right now, so this is left for later.
