[RP] and another question

I'm using Eterm with ratpoison at the moment, launching it with
the alias

bind c exec /usr/bin/Eterm

however, whenever I open a new console, it seems the internal geometry
is messed up (see http://www.maths.tcd.ie/~icecube/rpbah.jpg, and look
at the top-left to see how little of the main pane pine is using up (also
notice the big inaccessable blank pane that i was talking about on
the right?))

Anyone have any ideas?
