I installed Ratpoison on my Ubuntu 7.04 system, which uses Gdm. I cannot understand how to configure Gdm to automatically start Ratpoison instead of Gnome. I don't see "Ratpoison" in the session choosing menu in Gdm. How I can do it?
Hey,I had the same problem when I installed ratpoison under the Dapper I've been using for the last age. I don't remember for sure what I did to resolve the problem, but I suspect that creating the file "ratpoison.desktop" in /usr/share/xsessions did the trick. This is what my ratpoison.desktop looks like:
[Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Name=Ratpoison Comment=Start Ratpoison as your window manager Exec=ratpoison Icon= Type=Application Hope that helps. -Kelly
