Hello,

There is no Ring server as Ring is fully distributed.

Ring runs a DHT node and makes use of a configurable OpenDHT node address (bootstrap node) to join the distributed network. It could be the address of any running OpenDHT node.
https://github.com/savoirfairelinux/opendht

Ring also makes use of a configurable nameservice. This is used to register name<->public key mappings on the blockchain which is optional.
The code for the name service can found here : https://github.com/savoirfairelinux/ring-nameservice

OpenDHT and the nameservice are licenced under the GPLv3 or higher just like Ring.

See https://tuleap.ring.cx/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/ring/index.php?title=Ring_distributed_network to contribute to the distributed network or run your own Ring private network.
Note that the doc is still incomplete.

Objet: [Ring] ring server

Hello,
Is Ring server fully open source? If so is it possible to build your own Ring server and have the clients connects to your own chat platform?

Are there any instructions on how to do this if possible?
