Hi,

I'm quite new to programming and also not very experienced in Linux.
I'd like to start testing RULE on my old P90.
After I read the thread below, I'm not sure, whether I need the
complete RedHat Distribution or only Disc 1 and/or 2 ( ftp from
linuxiso.org)
Is there any translation to be done? My German is not as bad as
my English :-)

Christian

You can try boot images and update disks that should work with the
official Red Hat CDs. You need to create a bootable floppy using one of
the image files at:
http://www.tuxfan.homeip.net:8080/rule/images-0.7.0/
The updates are in the form of a tar file. Format the disk with
mke2fs -m0 /dev/fd0, copy the tarball to the disk, and untar it. The
tarfile is here:
http://www.tuxfan.homeip.net:8080/rule/updates-v0.7.0.tar

Boot from the floppy, and at the syslinux prompt, enter:
linux updates
You can limit the RAM available to the installer by specifying it on the
same line, for example:
linux updates mem=12M
You'll be prompted to insert the updates disk when it is required.

Have fun, and let us know if you need more info,
