Good, no great stuff D.......ran thru the install like a charm...only
little glitch I saw all the way through, was during rpm install----"[:
integer expression expected before -eq " don't have a clue...but you
might. This happened at odd intervals...probably about 6 or 8 times
throughout.
Using three primary partitions /swap 125meg /boot 20meg / 450meg.
Everything seemed to run well after reboot. Lilo installed properly, what
more can one ask?
Machine was P166 w/mmx; booting parm: linux mem=16M . Running 64meg
normally.
Couple dumb questions tho....;-((
I'm not familiar with the RH methods at all...
How do you initiate pppd...and setup the dialup...is there a config
utility of some sort. I installed 'wvdial'and configured....got the
machine to dial; but couldn't authenticate. I also editted
/etc/resolv.conf and added nameserver nos.; and added noipdefault to
/etc/options. What did I miss??
I see 'make' is installed. Is there a 'compiler suite or rpm' or do you
have to add the rest of the stuff---one stick at a time??
I have a nice little install on the go...would make a great little devel
platform...if I don't have to add another 600megs..to get it to compile.
Later..G
